Transportation for the Glick's. When Lowell and Sheri were sharing about their work in Mexico, they also shared that they were in need of another vehicle. We have $1,000 in matching funds that we can get from MMA to help with the purchase of a vehicle. If you would like to help with this project, designate your donation and either put it in the offering or give it to Steve E. If you have any questions, contact Dave Y.

A new exhibit is now open at the Illinois Mennonite Heritage Center Museum Gallery. "Remember Me" includes a wide variety of Friendship quilts that span over a century. 12 Illinois locations & 2 other states are represented. Included is "Lizzie's Friendship Coverlet" covered in the IMH Quarterly Spring 2010 issue. A quilt from Hopedale found in 2007 in Pennsylvania is also included. Half the 21 quilts in this exhibit are on loan. 2 unique unquilted items, a 1906 Crazy Quilt, & an 1890's coverlet of red embroidery on white, for a bride, are included as Friendship category bedding. Most, including 2 from the present century, are embellished with appliqué & embroidery. Each quilt tells a story of relationships, sometimes noting milestones, a change in status or location, or support for a mission or leader. All are stitches of affirmation. The exhibit will run from July through October 2010. For information or to schedule a tour, contact us at (309) 367-2551 or imhc@mtco.com
