Announcements
CHURCH GIVING. Due to some unexpected items, such as the tuck-pointing ($4857), the increase of electric and LP Gas ($2650), a new vacuum cleaner ($750) and several suppliers have added on fuel surcharges. As a result, we are presently $2000 behind in our giving. We have two more Church Expense offerings on Dec. 14th and 28th. Your continued support and giving is greatly appreciated.
MDS Work. The Mennonite Church of Normal is considering the week of Feb. 8-15 as a possibility for doing MDS work in the south. Please let Rich know if you have any interest in going.
Wreaths and Swags. Are available for pick up.
Chimes Rehearsal Schedule. The Chimes Choir will be rehearsing on Wednesdays at 6:30 starting Nov. 26 and will continue at least through Dec. 10. Please put these three dates on your calendars. We need 100% attendance. Adults and high schoolers are welcome. Let's have a good turnout and chime in the Advent season!
Offering Schedule The OPEN date of Nov. 30th will be an additional "church expense offering".
"Close To Home"-
There are new brochures available in the "Close To Home" series. The
new topics include child abuse and bullying. They have been added to the display
case in the Fellowship Hall.
Emailing the bulletin. If you are not in church on Sunday we will email you a copy of the bulletin. If you do not have email we will continue to use regular mail. So check your email!
MARKET DAY. You may
turn your paper order in to the church office by Wed. December 3rd or you may
order online at www.marketday.com by Thursday, December 4th by noon. Pick-up
is on Tuesday December 9th from 4:30-5:30pm.
Prayer Concerns. If you have a prayer concern, you can either write it on a piece of paper & give it to the worship leader or Rich, or share it with the congregation before the Pastoral Prayer.
Recycling religious materials.
If you have religious materials that are in good shape such as used Upper
Rooms, you can bring them to the church and we will send them to an organization
called "Love Packages," which recycles them.
Nov. 30 - Dec. 7, 2008
In December we will be praying for the patients and staff of the BroMenn Regional Medical Operating Rooms. There are 10 operating rooms, one of which is dedicated to heart surgeries. There are also two rooms on the Mother/Baby Unit where C-Section deliveries can take place.
